AEROPUERTO DE VIRACOPOS
El Aeropuerto Internacional de Viracopos, en Campinas, San Pablo, Brasil, tiene una planta de gas natural para generar energía durante las horas pico, entre las 6 p.m. y las 9 p.m., un período en el que la tarifa eléctrica convencional es tres veces más cara que en Brasil.
With this change, the airport will save 30% on the electricity bill and reduce the impact on the environment. With the initiative, Viracopos becomes the first airport in the country to use a bi-fuel kit in electric power generators, until now they had 100% powered by diesel. This mechanism allows the equipment to work with up to 70% natural gas and the rest of diesel.
