Hybrid Microgrid Control and Monitoring System at ‘3 de Maio’ Poultry Complex

Granja 3 de Maio, located in Rio Verde, Goiás (Brazil), operates 4 aviaries for broiler chicken farming. Poultry farming significantly contributes to the growth of Agribusiness and faces one of its main challenges in energy generation, both in terms of profit margins and the need for uninterrupted power to maintain constant aviary temperatures, ensuring the animals’ survival.

In this context, we developed a hybrid system to meet the client’s needs. The system consists of a 75 kWp photovoltaic park and a 44 kW generator that operates in emergencies during a possible grid failure and in parallel with the solar panels. The system aims to protect the engine by preventing it from operating below 30% of its nominal power; optimize energy generation costs by prioritizing renewable generation; optimize the use of the renewable plant even in the absence of the grid; ensure a continuous power supply, and contribute to the environment by providing cleaner energy.

This innovative solution not only enhances operational efficiency but also contributes to the sustainability of agribusiness.
