Control and Monitoring System on the High-Speed Vessel Francisco

The Francisco is the world’s first high-speed vessel powered by LNG as its main fuel. This vessel provides passenger transport services across the Río de la Plata between Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay. It has a capacity for over 1,000 passengers and 150 cars, reaching a maximum speed of 53 knots and typically operating at speeds between 47 and 50 knots.
The Francisco’s main power generation plant consists of four CAT C18 generator sets of 340 kW each. Additionally, it has two CAT C9 generator sets of 200 kW each for the gas turbine propulsion services. The entire energy management system is controlled by InteliSys controllers, and monitoring is carried out using InteliMonitor.

The use of InteliSys controllers in energy management ensures efficient and safe operation of all the ship’s electrical systems. These controllers enable advanced and precise management of energy consumption, ensuring all components work in harmony and optimizing the use of LNG as the main fuel.
