Learn to configure and diagnose automatic transfer systems between utility and generator sets, using industrial controllers.
Training based on Servintel's experience in automation of power generation systems in Latin America.
What problem does this course solve
In many backup power systems, the most common failures are not in the generator, but in the transfer logic.
Common problems:
- the generator does not start upon utility failure
- the transfer does not occur correctly
- the load remains without power
- the return to utility fails
- signals or protections are incorrectly configured
This course teaches how these systems work and how to configure them correctly.
What you will learn
During the training you will work with automatic transfer systems (AMF) used in industrial applications.
You will learn to:
- understand open transfer logic
- configure AMF controllers
- interpret utility and generator signals
- configure inputs and outputs
- analyze the start and transfer sequence
- diagnose failures in backup power systems
Real cases of generator automation are also analyzed.
The objective is for participants to be able to configure, diagnose and operate automatic transfer systems in real installations.
Course applications
The concepts studied apply to systems in:
- hospitals
- critical buildings
- data centers
- industry
- telecommunications
- facilities with backup power systems
