Control and Monitoring System in the Halcón Coast Guard Fleet
The Falcon Coast Guard Fleet comprises a set of ocean patrol vessels designed and built for the Argentine Naval Prefecture at the shipyards of Empresa Nacional Bazán in Spain. This impressive series comprises five units: GC-24 Mantilla, GC-25 Azopardo, GC-26 Thompson, GC-27 Prefecto Fique, and GC-28 Prefecto Derbes. Each of these vessels features a displacement of 1,084 tons, a length of 67 meters, a beam of 10.5 meters, and a draft of 3.25 meters. Equipped with a Bofors 40mm L70 DP cannon, these vessels are prepared to defend themselves against potential threats during their patrol missions.
The propulsion of these vessels is achieved thanks to two powerful MTU 16V956 diesel engines, enabling them to reach a maximum speed of 21.5 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots. With an impressive range of 5,000 nautical miles at a speed of 18 knots, the Halcón Class vessels are ready to undertake extended ocean patrols in distant waters. With a dedicated crew of 38 members, these vessels ensure optimal operation at all times.
Furthermore, the vessels have the capability to transport an aircraft, either an AS.365 Dauphin or an AS.350 Écureuil, enabling them to efficiently conduct aerial surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
