Plant Generation Control System of Retiro Railway Station

Retiro-Mitre Station, or simply Retiro, is one of the seven central railway stations in Buenos Aires. Inaugurated in 1915, it serves as the terminal station for the General Mitre Railway and the Mitre line of suburban services to the northern zone of Greater Buenos Aires. With 44 million passengers annually, it is the second busiest station in Argentina.
The station’s design followed the pattern established in Europe at the end of the 19th century, dividing the building into two large sections. For the construction of the grand hall, cafes, and ticketing area, an aesthetic criterion was followed, with fine finishes mainly influenced by Edwardian Architecture. The interiors, with more than 20,000 m² of ceiling, were covered with tiles provided by the British company Royal Doulton and illuminated with Florentine-style torches.
In 2016, restoration works began.

As part of this improvement plan, the automatic backup of electrical power will be incorporated with four 320 kW generator sets working in parallel. This modernization ensures that Retiro-Mitre Station maintains its operational and energy efficiency, even in emergency situations.

We are pleased to have been able to participate in this update, contributing to the preservation and enhancement of this historic and iconic transportation hub in Buenos Aires.
