Control and Monitoring System in the Z-28 Class Coast Guard Fleet

In 1979, 20 Z-28 Class (Type 64) coast guard boats of German origin were added to the fleet. These vessels have served for decades in the Argentine Naval Prefecture, providing essential capabilities for coastal patrol and surveillance.

Recently, these boats have undergone significant updates to their propulsion and generation control systems, ensuring they continue to operate with maximum efficiency and reliability.

The update included the implementation of InteliDrive DCU Marine and InteliGen Marine controllers, which now allow all vessels to be controlled and monitored through InteliVision 8 Marine displays. Additionally, expansion accessory modules were used to manage the pneumatic control system for speed and the gearbox of the main engines, ensuring optimal operational control.

This modernization process not only enhances operational efficiency and safety but also extends the service life of the coast guard boats, allowing them to continue playing a crucial role in maritime security.

The fleet is distributed throughout the Argentine territory, both in the Argentine Sea and rivers, carrying out surveillance and protection tasks in territorial waters. These boats play a vital role in preserving and defending the country’s natural resources and sovereignty.
